Shihan William Lee Vecchiolli
In 1977, Sensei started training under Mr. Ron White. With Mr. White’s guidance and he placed and won many state and national tournaments. On July 1, 1979, I was promoted to 3rd Kyu Brown Belt. In 1980, I was honored as Student of the Year. I shared this honor with Mr. Bob Campbell. On August 12, 1983 Sensei tested for and was promoted to Shodan along with Mr. Jeff Walker, Mr. George Sheridan, and Mr. Mike Modglin.

In 1983, Mr. White closed Whites Karate Institute and moved to Hawaii. Sensei opened his first school. When Mr. White returned from Hawaii in 1984 and opened a new school Sensei closed his school and continued his studies under Mr. White. On November 1, 1984, Sensei was promoted to the rank of Ni Dan.

On October 2, 1986, Sensei was promoted to the rank of San Dan. Later in 1986, Mr. White decided to take a break from the martial arts and closed his school.

Sensei drifted from Mr. Jeff Walker’s school and Mr. George Sheridan’s school training and continuing his studies of the martial arts. On December 21, 1989, Sensei was promoted to the rank of Yo Dan.

On September 24, 1992, Sensei opened Lee’s Karate and Bushido in Muncie, Indiana with three students, Darvin McGowan, Darrin McGowan, and Tom Harbison. With no set direction, he again sought out the advice of Mr. White. Mr. White suggested he go to Grand Master Keoppel. With the help of Mr. Steve Anderson and Mr. Larry Davenport, he was introduced to Master Keoppel. After a period of time, Master Keoppel, welcomed him into the United States Karate-Do Kai.

On September 14, 1994, Mr. Vecchiolli gathered with his fellow Karate-ka at Mr. Sheridan’s School and after a hard work out he was promoted by a board of 5th degree black belts and above to Go Dan.

On February 2, 1995, Sensei Vecchiolli opened another school in Rushville, Indiana.

On November 10, 1998 Sensei Vecchiolli was promoted to Roku Dan at the PKC Grand Nationals in Canton, Ohio.

In 2002, Sensei Vecchiolli became the United States Karate-Do Kai European Champion, by winning the Master’s Division, Dublin, Ireland.

On March 8, 2003, Sensei Vecchiolli was inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
