Six Task Character Development Program (Six Tasks) is a part of our promotion requirements. We strive to insure that our students are taught life skills to help them through these, often, difficult and challenging times that young people face.  The Six Task Character Development Program (Six Tasks) is the first program of its kind. It is a “Chicken Soup for the Soul” that’s not based on absorbing knowledge or reading motivational or inspirational stories, but on TAKING ACTION and learning through DOING. The Six Tasks journey is a character building right-of-passage through a world of respect, teamwork, self-discipline, perseverance, leadership and knowledge. Along the way participants learn life-lessons about goal setting, wisdom, journaling, mentoring and the awesome power of taking action on ideas. For kids, it ’s fun; it’s like being on an adventure. For us, it’s a great way to have a profound affect on a young person’s behavior outside of our martial arts school.

The Six Task will be broken down as follows for promotion requirements:
White Belt to Orange/White Belt Task 1 -  50 Acts of Kindness, Courtesy & Respect
Orange/White Belt & Orange Belt Task 2  - Team Work - 50 Household Chores
Orange Belt to Yellow Belt Task 3 - Perseverance - 1000 repetitions of a technique
Yellow Belt to Blue Belt Task 4 - Self-Discipline - Eat a healthy diet an entire week
Blue Belt to Purple Belt Task 5  - Leadership - Ten “mentoring lessons”
Purple to 2nd Kyu Brown Belt Task 6  - Knowledge - Read two books to read and write ten letters.

Once a mission is completed, the student will show his/her sensei. At that point, he/she will be awarded a patch to be worn on their uniform. If a student completes the task and would like to do the same task again, those books can be purchased for $2.00 each. If a student completes 10 books of the same task, he/she will be awarded a $20.00 Pinnacle Martial Arts Gift Certificate.

Each student will be given the task that coincides with their belt rank. Students will be encouraged to finish early and then work on the task that they may have missed.

Remember, our goal at Pinnacle Martial Arts isn’t just to inspire our students to become black belts in the martial arts, but to become black belts in life!
